Lufthansa begins flights to East Africa

Lufthansa has announced the start date of East Africa flights by Eurowings Discover, its low-cost long-haul carrier.

From July 24, the LCC will operate a twice-weekly service from Frankfurt to Mombasa, with onward flights to Zanzibar.

Lufthansa says it is seeing increased demand from people yearning to travel, relax and explore. Looking ahead, because of positive market reaction, the company says it intends to increase the Frankfurt-Mombasa service to four flights a week in June 2022, at the same time expanding its destination portfolio by adding a double-weekly tag flight from Mombasa to Kilimanjaro, while continuing its twice weekly tag flights from Mombasa to Zanzibar.

For the purposes of forward planning, the schedule, from June 2022 will be:

4Y134 departs from Frankfurt at 19h30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, arriving in Mombasa at 05h10+1.

4Y134 from Mombasa departs at 06h25, arriving in Zanzibar at 07h25 on Thursdays and Sundays.

4Y135 departs from Zanzibar at 08h45 on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving in Mombasa at 09h45.

4Y134 departs from Mombasa at 06h25 and arrives in Kilimanjaro at 07h20 on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

4Y135 departs from Kilimanjaro 08h50 and arrives in Mombasa at 09h45 on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

4Y135 departs from Mombasa 11h00 and arrives in Frankfurt at 18h45 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

All Eurowings Discover flights will offer business class, premium economy, and economy class.
