Ngutuni Lodge is built in the midst of a private sanctuary that covers an area of 10,000 acres bordered by Tsavo East National Park on three sides.
One can spend time on the viewing decks of the lodge and watch as herds of elephants, zebras, buffaloes and many species of birds visit the watering hole below to drink, bath or graze on the surrounding foliage.
Ngutuni lodge is built with timber poles and thatched roofs with a warm, eco-friendly ambience that surprisingly combines all the basic comforts you may need. The main lounge and dining room is located in a central structure with wide verandas that serve as excellent vantage points to view the wildlife activity in the plain outside.
The Lodge has 48 guest rooms on either side of four of the two-story buildings that have 12 rooms each. Every room includes a double bed and an added single bed that can comfortably sleep up to three guests traveling to Tsavo East Park with a maximum capacity of a massive 144 guests.
Families will find the 8 interconnecting rooms very convenient. Natural-tone curtains and rugs on the floor lend a homely feel to the rooms that also has a simple dresser and seat. The ceiling fan keeps you cool and the lodge also provides a room phone for your use while the attached bathroom has a shower and hairdryer. The wooden balcony also has a seating arrangement and faces the watering hole. This area light up at night so you can continue to view animals even in the dim light.
